We Live, We Love,
Nueva Comunidad is a bilingual ministry whose main goal is to bridge the generational gap that exists in Latin families whose youth and children have been raised in the US and dominate the English language, but their parents and grandparents dominate the Spanish language.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus". Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)
We believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is the revealed Word of God.
We believe salvation is through Jesus Christ.
We believe in the baptism of believers as testimony of salvation.
We celebrate Holy Communion weekly as an act of reconciliation with God and our community.
We follow Jesus' example in helping those in need, orphans, widows, and immigrants.
Rev. Selena Reyes
Originally from Puerto Rico, Pastor Selena Reyes-Martinez grew up in, and was ordained by, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She has a B.A. in Business Administration, a Master’s in Divinity, and a Master’s in Finance.
Bi-vocational, Pastor Selena has worked across the non-profit and ministerial sectors. She’s been an Assistant Director, Financial Analyst, and Staff Accountant in several non-profits. She’s also served as a Pastor, Volunteer Associate Pastor, Hospice Chaplain, Moderator, Treasurer, and Trustee.
Raising her child in English churches, Pastor Selena yearned for her Latin roots. As a result, she and her family planted NCCC as an effort to join culture and language for a growing Latin-American community, where bilingual families can worship together. She lives with her husband, daughter, and two doggies in Central FL.
